The Leader’s Burden

The Leader’s Burden

Achieving consistent results for stakeholders can be a lonely endeavor, and this loneliness often increases with greater success. This represents the emotional burden that comes with leadership. Whether leading a multinational corporation or family this logic applies.

Every success and failure is out in the open, allowing the world to criticize, condemn, or celebrate these outcomes. For some, this situation leads to denial, where potential risks seem more significant than they truly are, influencing people’s thoughts and behaviors.

This emotional exercise happens when we take responsibility. Every choice has far-reaching consequences. This opportunity is designed for ourselves, others and the world. It is a conscious decision by the leader to make the world a better place. How we serve our families, businesses, community and places of worship become magnified when we take this calling on.

“What if I fail?” and “What if I succeed?”

Both of these questions require the same effort and imagination. The leader listens closely and asks better questions.

Time has no replays,

Dr. Vince
